Working principle of cold storage air cooler

2025-03-27

1. Operating mechanism of air cooler

An air cooler, primarily composed of a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator, reduces the temperature inside a cold storage through a refrigeration cycle. Specifically, the working principle of an air cooler involves compressing the refrigerant into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas, which is then cooled and condensed into a high-pressure liquid refrigerant through the condenser. The high-pressure refrigerant is then decompressed and cooled through the expansion valve, and further cooled by evaporation in the evaporator, ultimately returning to the compressor for circulation.

II. Refrigeration cycle process

The refrigeration cycle process of an air cooler is set according to the requirements of the refrigeration system. It includes four main parts: compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. Firstly, the refrigerant is compressed into a high-temperature and high-pressure gas, and then it is cooled and condensed into a high-pressure liquid refrigerant through the radiator in the condenser. Next, under the action of the expansion valve, the high-pressure refrigerant is decompressed and cooled. Finally, the cooled refrigerant is evaporated in the evaporator to reduce its temperature.

III. Key Components

1. Compressor

The compressor is the core component of the air cooler, primarily serving to compress the refrigerant. The quality and performance of the compressor are crucial guarantees for the efficiency and quality of the refrigeration system's operation.

2. Condenser

The condenser transfers the heat from the refrigerant to the ambient air or water, causing the liquid refrigerant to turn into high-pressure liquid refrigerant and resulting in a temperature increase.

3. Expansion valve

The expansion valve is a crucial component that expands high-pressure refrigerant to the evaporator. Through the action of the expansion valve, the high-pressure refrigerant undergoes decompression and cooling.

4. Evaporator

The evaporator is the cooling mechanism of the cold air machine. The cooled refrigerant reduces its temperature through evaporation in the evaporator, achieving temperature reduction inside the cold storage.

The above is a brief introduction to the working principle and components of cold storage air coolers. By understanding the working principle of air coolers, we can better grasp their function and operational mechanism, providing a more convenient and comfortable environment for production and daily life.
